Aircenter AB was founded in 1991 by Kenneth Johansson under the name Aircenter KJ AB. From the very beginning, the vision was clear: to deliver high-quality compressed air solutions with a strong focus on quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
In 1994, the company took an important step to get even closer to customers in southern Sweden by establishing Aircenter Service. In 1998, Aircenter KJ AB changed its name to the current Aircenter AB – a name that has since become synonymous with reliable and efficient compressed air.
In the following years, expansion continued through strategic acquisitions and new establishments. In 1999, Kompressor Teknik in Gothenburg was acquired, strengthening the company’s presence on the west coast. In 2006, Kompressor Teknik Öst AB was founded to further consolidate its position in the Linköping area. To meet demand in the capital region, Kompressorservice i Kista AB was acquired in 2018. This established a local service organization in key locations: Stockholm, Helsingborg, and Gothenburg.
Thanks to a strong network of sister companies and several independent partners, Aircenter AB is today represented from north to south across all of Sweden.
Our product range includes compressors from 1 kW up to 355 kW. We are the proud agent in Sweden for the global brands ALUP (screw and piston compressors), Chicago Pneumatic (screw and piston compressors), and Pneumatech (air treatment), as well as the general agent for Mattei (rotary vane compressors). ALUP, Chicago Pneumatic, and Pneumatech are part of the Atlas Copco Group – two of the world’s most respected names in compressed air.
With this broad product portfolio and over 30 years of experience, we can offer tailor-made solutions for virtually any application – from powerful drilling rigs in mines to clean breathing air in healthcare.
At the end of 2023, the company took a decisive step toward becoming an even stronger and more unified player. Aircenter AB, Aircenter Service AB, Aircenter Kompressorservice AB, and Kompressorteknik KL AB were merged into one single, unified organization – the new Aircenter AB.
Today, Aircenter AB stands stronger than ever as a complete, all-in-one partner in compressed air. With nationwide presence, its own service organization in multiple locations, market-leading brands, and a genuine passion for delivering compressed air that always works, we are the trusted partner for Swedish companies – regardless of industry or size.

Richard and Robert’s Journey with Aircenter – A New Chapter Driven by Passion and Development
In 2014, Richard and Robert took the helm of Aircenter AB. It marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the company’s history – a chapter where entrepreneurship, technical expertise, and a long-term vision would guide the well-established compressed air company into the future.
Robert brought with him solid experience from the automotive industry, including a role as Development Manager for the exhaust systems at Scania, as well as previous positions at Volvo Cars and Polestar Racing. With his deep knowledge in engineering, performance optimization, and industrial processes, he brought a strong drive to elevate Aircenter’s solutions to even higher levels of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Richard contributed a completely different but equally valuable background from the IT sector. As a consultant, he had worked on a wide range of assignments where systems, digitalization, and business development were at the core. This combination of strategic thinking, process optimization, and modern technology has proven to be a significant asset as Aircenter has grown and professionalized under their leadership.
Together, Richard and Robert have steered Aircenter AB forward with a clear focus: to preserve the very best from the company’s 30-year history while building a modern, strong, and customer-oriented organization. During their tenure, the company has grown through strategic acquisitions, expanded geographical presence, and an even broader range of services.
One of the most important milestones came in 2023, when Aircenter AB, Aircenter Service AB, Aircenter Kompressorservice AB, and Kompressorteknik KL AB were merged into one unified organization. The merger has made Aircenter an even stronger total partner – with retained local presence in cities such as Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Helsingborg, backed by the strength of a single, cohesive organization.
Today, more than ten years after taking over, Aircenter AB stands stronger than ever. With Robert and Richard’s complementary skills – one with deep industrial and technical expertise from heavy vehicle development, the other with strategic and digital business development – the company continues to evolve toward becoming the most reliable and complete provider of compressed air solutions in Sweden.
For customers, this means world-class reliability: compressed air that always works, combined with modern expertise, personal service, and an organization that truly understands both technology and business.
Richard and Robert have not only managed a company – they have built upon a strong tradition and laid the foundation for Aircenter’s next 30 years.
